Local for the Holidays
I do not dare to go near the malls at this time of year. It's just too crazy. Another reason to stay away from the malls is that I can just stay in my neighborhood and shop for gifts or for holiday foods. Local First is a good resource for finding retailers in this area. http://www.localfirst.com/members
Consider local stores, producers and artists when shopping for your holiday needs. Shop at the West Michigan Co-op for your favorite holiday dishes - or to find new favorites. Link is under the links section if you are not already a member. UICA is holding its Holiday Artists Market this weekend (Dec. 5 & 6) - http://uica.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.viewpage&pageid=588 or visit Tangelfoot studios on Saturdays during December - http://www.tanglefootstudio.com/
What better way to celebrate the season than to keep your money spent right in the community!
